Taplow faced Hillingdon for the second time in 7 days and again came away
with nothing.
Taplow played the better football and took a deserved half time lead
through Mathew Coles who slotted home following a slick passing move.
The second half was a repeat of the previous week with the stronger
Hillingdon boys wearing Taplow down and forcing them to playing a long
ball game.
The Hillingdon equaliser came following a breakaway after a Taplow attack,
and their second was a result of their height advantage with the forward
heading home a fine cross.
As
Taplow pushed forward looking for an equaliser Hillingdon forced home a
third in the last minute to leave the scoreline not reflecting Taplow’s
excellent performance. |

A
depleted Taplow Utd team were beaten by a last minute goal after having
put up a terrific performance at Hillingdon.
The Taplow youngsters took the lead through Noah Sharples
following some one touch passing which the England team could have done
with last Wednesday, only for a defensive slip to allow Hillingdon to
equalise before half time.
Playing with only 11 Taplow began to tire as the second half wore on and
Hillingdon capitalised with their late winner preventing the match going
into extra time

Fantastic !!!! The only way to describe this performance by the Taplow
boys. Taplow hosted league high flyers Iver Heath on Sunday, and gave the
promotion favourites a fright.
With the scores level at 0-0 at half time Taplow took the lead early in
the second half following an excellent passing move involving Jordan
Jawandha, Adam Fleet, Noah Sharples and Ben Saunders who shot home
powerfully from the edge of the area.
Unfortunately for the Taplow boys Iver were able to use their height
advantage and strength to claw back 3 goals, and finished the game off
with a great 20 yard drive.
Taplow’s performance defied the year age difference between the sides as
the youngsters more than matched their visitors and in some parts
outplayed them.

A solitary
first half strike by Jordan Jawandha was enough to send Taplow through to
the next round of the County cup.
Taplow totally
dominated the match with the midfield duo of Noah Sharples and Adam Fleet
pulling the strings in midfield , Benjamin Borst solid in defence, and Ben
Saunders continually pressing the Marlow back four the visitors were never
given any time on the ball by the Taplow youngsters and Dylan Ryan in the
Taplow goal was rarely troubled.

Despite having 80% of the possession and dominating the play, Taplow
United lost this match. Unfortunately for Taplow, Wexham were stronger
and quicker in defence and attack and utilised this to gain a 4-1 half
time lead. Noah Sharples scoring Taplow’s solitary goal of the half.
The second half started well for Taplow and Mathew Coles pulled a goal
back after some fine work by Sam Tythe. Unfortunately Wexham added a
fifth before the end to give the score line an unfair look. |

Taplow United won this hard fought close encounter thanks to a solitary
goal from Sam Thythe, his first for the team.
Captain for the day Tythe had pushed up field to add his presence into
the Windsor area for a Taplow free kick, and his initial challenge
forced the keeper to fumble Jordan Jawandha’s cross and Tythe coolly
slotted home the loose ball with his left foot.
The game was a hard fought affair with the whole Taplow team working
hard to win the 3 points. |
Taplow United U14 Youth 1 v Maidenhead Magpies 0
Taplow U14 recorded their first win of the season with
a strong team performance.
Taplow’s passing allowed them to create the better
chances, and following some intricate play, Jordan Jawandha put Ben
Saunders through on goal. Saunders took the pass in his stride and cooly
guided the ball home with the outside of his foot for the only goal of the
game, and his first for the club.
Magpies tried to respond, but Taplow inspired by the
excellent Sam Tythe and Adam Fleet dug deep to protect their lead and take
the points.
