Maidenhead Giants 5 Taplow Utd U12's 0
Slough Soccer Combination
17 February
Taplow Utd came back down to earth with a bump after winning their last game.
Under pressure from the start Taplow were always on the back foot. Maidenhead
took the lead through a long through ball which the Taplow defence failed to
deal with. The second and third goals all came from Taplow's inability to
clear the ball.
The second half was an altogether better performance fron taplow who stood up
to the physically bigger Maidenhead side and the two Maidenhead goals came
from pressure on the Taplow Goal. But for Taplow man of the match keeper Joe
Fisher maidenhead would have got into double figures.

Taplow gained
their first league win of the season when the beat Old windsor in a tight
game of few chances.
Playing uphill
in the first half Taplow absorbed the pressure from Old Windsor well
restricting them to long range shots wich were easily delt with by Keeper
Joe Fisher. Taplow themselves were restricted to counter attacking which
although effective in relieving the pressure on the defence bore little
fruit in shots on target.
The second
half the swang round with Taplow down the hill exerting the early pressure
on the Old Winsor defence.
Taplow came
close early on with mark Austins cross shot rolling in the six yard box with
no Taplow player following in.
Lessons
learned Austin broke down the right again with his cross shot parried by the
Old Windsor keeper but with Jake Wheatley following in Taplow took the lead.
Old Windsor
came back all gunns blazing pushing Taplow back. The Taplow defence held
strong and what got through was cleared up by keeper Fisher.
Game ended as
it had started with Old Windsor in the Taplow half but taplow's rearguard
held strong top take the points.

Taplow u12 finally got on a football pitch for the first time this year,
their match rustiness was evident as they took time to settle into the game.
Delaford were in the ascendancy as the Taplow defence held strong keeping the
attackers at bay with keeper Joe Fisher clearing up any balls that came
through. Taplow finaly broke out of their own half with a break by Alex Harvey
who out paced the Delaford defence and finshed smartly over the Holtspur
keeper.
Secons half
saw Delaford equalise in the opening minutes as Taplow finally succumbed to
the Delaford pressure. Taplow relied on counter attacks with Mark Austin
coming close after out running the Delaford defence on numerous occasions.
Taplow continued to soak up the pressure at the back with Daniel Ellalasingham giving
an outstanding performance at sweeper. Taplow finally went behind after a
Delaford attack down their left firing over Taplow's keeper. Taplow continued
to battle with Bruno Renucci continuing to snub out all Delaford attackers
down the middle. Taplow's equaliser came after a through pass from Taplow's
left to Alex Harvey who again out run the Delaford defence and fired past the
on coming Delaford keeper. In a last 5 minute frenzy Taplow defended stoutly
as Delaford piled forward for the winner but were again nearly caught on the
counter by the Taplow attack. The game finished 2-2 with Taplow happy to
finally get a game under their belts.

Taplow bowed out of the Slough & Windsor Open cup with a battling
performance against a more experienced Old Windsor side.
Taplow went behind in the first half to a long range shot which they failed to
shut down. Taplow equalised through an Alex Harvey penalty won by Bruno
Renucci's determined run from midfield finally being felled by the Old
Windsor Keeper. Old Windsor scored their second following slack marking from a
corner. Again keeper Joe Fisher put in another fine display as did all the
Taplow players in worsening weather conditions. Taplow kept pressuring the Old
Windsor defence by the equaliser was not forth coming.
