Taplow Utd U10 Minors 1
Taplow Boys Blues 1
Harun Ali
Slough Mini Soccer Friendly Scheme
17 February
The Taplow teams filled in a free week with a freindly game.
The game was played in extremely good spirit with both sides passing the ball
around.
With
chances at both ends of a scoreless first half United’s keeper Joe Pilcher
was possibly the busier with a couple of fine saves keeping Taplow Boys at
bay.
The second half was again was end to end, Taplow Boys broke the deadlock with
a fine shot from outside the area which beat United’s keeper Pilcher into the
far corner. United far from deflated pushed for an equaliser which came
minutes from the end from Harun Ali who ran through the Taplow boys defence
and shot past the on-rushing keeper .

round League Plate match.
Taplow
started the game like they wanted to win and win they did.
They played
with passion and after a few minutes Ryan Khan shot one home to put Taplow
ahead. Jamie Beynon-Bown had several tries too but the post stopped him
from scoring. Taplow’s defence of Hugh Ratcliffe and Paul Brokenshire
stopped Chalfont getting any goals. Taplow played very well as a team and
showed they are a team to be reckoned with and played out of their socks.
Adam Carter
needs to be mentioned too as he played very well in goal covering for his
twin who has broken his arm and made some very good saves.

27 January 2008
Taplow U 10 minors continued where they left off last week with
their 4th win of the season against Holtspur Blues. Boyed by their win last
week Taplow started confidently pressing the Holtspur goal with Jack Hillier
going close. After his close attempt Jack Hillier went one better opening the
scoring with a well places shot in the lefthand corner of the goal after 10
mins. Taplow continued to press and forces the Holtspur into giving a penalty
wich was converted By Didier Mkhabela. With confidence on a high Mkhabela
broke from midfield and fired pass the Holtspur keeper. Taplow were soon
caught out as they ball tryed to get in on the scoring act and a superb diving
save by keeper Jordan Slattery kept Holtspur at bay.
After the
break it was Holtspur who came out on the attack but keeper Slattery kept them
at bay until he was beaten by a cross shot from the right. Taplow responded
in the correct manor with Kieran Ahern breaking throgh the defence and scoring
Taplow's fourth. Taplows fifth came from a fine run from full back Louis
Verschoyle who broke from his own half to shrug off the Holtspur challanges
to fire past the advancing the keeper. Taplow's sixth came as Didier Mkhabela
finished his hattrick with a smart finish fron inside the box. Taplow played
well and will need to continue this form in upcoming games.

Taplow United Colts played against Maidenhead Warriors The first half was
fast and furious and Maidenhead scored a dubious goal. At half time the
score was two nil but could have been more but the superb defending from
Paul Brokenshire and Hugh Ratcliffe kept it at bay.
In the
second half things changed Taplow played much better. Jamie Beynon Bown
scored a cracking goal and the match was taken up a level. Taplows up
front guys of Ryan Khan and Henry Bennett and Jamie Beynon Bown were so
close to scoring and equalising the score, but luck was against them. Then
Maidenhead got another goal and the final score was three one.

Holtspur Reds 1 Taplow Utd minors 2
Taplow minors
gained their 3rd win of the season with a hard fought win over holtspur.
On a boggy
oversized pitch Taplow pressed Holtspur back but were soon caught out with the
size of the pitch as Holtspur broke out to score.
Taplow then
quickly adapted to the conditions playing uphill they kept the game mainly in
the Holspur half coming close on numerous occasions until Didier turned in a a
cross to level the score just before half time.
Playing down
hill with the wind Taplow were soon on top again with their passing game
working well in the boggy conditions. Despite many chances and 3 goal line
scrambles the match remained equal until a slick passing move starting at the
Taplow penalty area ended with Kieran Aherne rounding the Holtspur keeper to
put Taplow into a deserved lead.
Taplow continued
to press to go ahead further but failed to score further and nearly came
unstuck when they were caught out but keeper Joe pilcher stood tall to force
the holtspur forward to shoot wide
This was a
alround team performance with all players playing their part.

16 December 2007
A great end to the year saw Taplow gain their second win of the season in a
competitive game fought out in the cold this Sunday.
Bedfont took the lead
with a breakaway goal after the Taplow defence went walk about. Taplow
replied soon after forcing an own goal after a bullit of a corner from Haron
Ali. Going in even at half time reflected the effort put in by both
sides
The second half again
was a battle flowing from end to end until Kieron Aherne latched on to a
precision pass to score on the second attempt after a save from the Bedfont
keeper.
With chances to both
sides in the closing minutes either side copuld have levelled or gone further
ahead.
But it was Taplow that
came out victors for the 2nd time this season.

Only someone with
a sense of humour could pick 2 Taplow teams out of the hat for the league
plate competition.
The game was a good advert for football at Taplow Utd FC with a
distinct lack of hoof it and run; both teams looked to pass their way
forward. Minors were not overawed by the more experienced Colts side and
proved it by applying as much pressure to the Colts goal as the colts imposed
on the minors goal.
The Colts took the lead before half time after the minors failed on 3
occasions to clear a Colts cross before the ball was slipped home. The Colts
went further ahead before the Minors replied with a powerful fre ekick from
new signing Louis Verschoyle. Colts 3rd again came from the Minors failure to
clear the ball passed into their box. The fourth soon followed but for keeper
Joe Pilcher’s stunning save minutes from the end the score would have been
higher.
In round up a good game played the right way and tribute to the time the
coaches have put in.

Taplow Minors again showed their battling spirit in a game literally of 2
halves.
New Windsor started brighter with Taplow on the back foot from the off. Taplow
battled stoutly against a team obviously playing below their level in division
C, going in at half time only one down was a great achievement for the Taplow
team with stand in keeper Jordan Slattery being the pick of an all round good
performance. From the kick off of the second half Windsor pressured and were
soon futher ahead , Credit to Taplow and their players for never giving up
finally going down to eight goals to 0

Taplow Utd had a great start with Ryan Khan scoring a goal in the first
few minutes and despite fully engaging in a competitive encounter they
conceded two goals before half time.
In the second half Adam Carter hit the cross bar twice from free kicks but
luck was not on Taplow Utd’s side. Maidenhead then scored another
two goals. Taplow hurt by this injustice, scored with a good run by
Jamie Beynon-Bown but all was in vain as with only five minutes to go they
conceded again.
Taplow never gave up showing some great passing skills and good defending.
Lots of chances just no finishing touch. Well done the Colts. Keep
it up.

28 October 2007
Taplow Utd U10 minors suffered their heaviest defeat of the season against a
table- topping Golden Eagles team.
With the side still weakened by half term holidays Taplow were under pressure
from the off, with Golden Eagles camped in their half. Again the Taplow
defence continued from last week frustrating the opposition with stout
defending and limiting Golden Eagles to speculative shots.
Taplow Utd finally succumbed in the last minute of the first half after a
slick Eagles passing move, found their forward on his own in the Taplow box to
slot home from 5 yards. The second half Taplow found themselves again on the
back foot and were soon 2 down. Relieved only by occasional breakouts Taplow
Utd’s defence were continually under pressure. The second half turned in to be
very one-sided half as Taplow conceded another 6 before the final whistle.

Taplow United under 10's colts played Delaford Colts Whites in the
cup/plate decider.
In the first
half Taplow seemed half asleep with most of the play at the Taplow end.
Despite Jamie Beynon-Bown running the ball up a few times. Taplow were
unable to score and first half ended 4-0 down. After a stern team talk
from their manager the second half started with determination. Tega Amahwe
took a great corner kick and Chadley Barlow headed Taplow home for their
first goal. The game was taken up a different level. Adam Carter then took
a fantastic corner and "Bent it like Beckham" into the top right corner.
Even though the team played a much better second half the score remained
4-2. Man of the match deservingly went to Adam "Beckham" Carter

Taplow put on their best performance of the season when they
played New Windsor Ravens Blacks away. Right from the first whistle they
used all their skills and went quickly in front when Ryan Khan shot home
after a quality pass from Jamie Beynon Bown. Then some brilliant defending
from Tega Amahwe, Sam Chamberlain and Adam Carter stopped Windsor even
getting near our goal . Steven Merrick then tapped one in and from then on
it was goals galore. Chadley Barlow got his first goal of season and then
two more goals from Ryan Khan completed his hat trick. Taplow worked
continually as a team and everyone played well but man of the match had to
go to Ryan for his superb skills up front. Well played Taplow a well
deserved win.

21 October 2007
Taplow Utd Minors weakened by the half term holidays started brightly
with Kieran Ahern coming close in the first few minutes only denied by some
brave keeping from the Harefield keeper.
Harefield then found their feet and put Taplow under constant pressure.
The breakthrough for Harefild came from Taplow's inability to clear the ball
from their area.
The rest of the
first half followed the same pattern with Taplow conceding two more goals
which could have been avoided by positive action in clearing the ball.
The second Half was a similar story but Taplow's defence was more resolute and
restricted to breakouts Kieran Ahern was restricted to the odd run at the
Harefield goal. At the back Joe Pilcher in goa,l Jacob Jerger and Jordan
Slattery defended like demons restricting Harefield to one goal inspite of all
the pressure exerted on them .

Taplow Utd registered their first win of the season with a convincing 3-2
win over West Drayton.
Taplow Utd showed the early initiative coming close twice before West
Drayton broke away and a mix up in the Taplow defence allowed West Drayton
to score. Taplow toiled away but the west Drayton keeper kept Taplow at
bay on 5 occasions before Didier Mkbela pounced on a rebound to level.
Taplow Utd
started the second half like the first and again went behind to a
breakaway goal, The home side continued to press with stout defending from
West Drayton until Keiron Ahern made it even with a breakaway goal. As
West Drayton pushed for the equaliser, Taplow Utd broke away again and
Keiron Ahern made it 3.
Taplow Utd’s defence held strong to record their first win.

Taplow Utd Minors again started
well defending stoutly against a determined Maidenhead attack. Taplow Utd
came close in the first half before succumbing to Maidenhead just before the
break.
Taplow started the second half a little slower not getting to the ball as
quickly as they did in the first half and were soon 2 down. A scorcher of
a third goal saw Maidenhead safe before Taplow got their only reply through
Kieran Ahern.
Maidenhead made
it 4 late on but Taplow gave a better performance than hitherto and proved
that when they pass well they can match anyone.

Taplow Boys started strongly
controlling the midfield and as a result took an early lead. Taplow Utd
created several chances but the visitors' keeper made numerous saves.
Taplow Utd's pressure eventually told as Henry Bennett scored. The break
allowed Taplow Boys to re-group and they were more assertive in the second.
Two quick goals settled the game despite a flurry of corners won by the home
side, none of which they could convert.

After chances at both ends Burnham Juniors were the
first to score direct from a corner. Ryan Khan was quick to equalise
lifting Taplow's spirits then corner routine again allowed Burnham to
score from the home side's deflection.
A swift passing move was emphatically finished by Tega Amahwe having been
set up by Chadley Barlow. Fromn then on Taplow took control and
Jamie Beynon-Bown fired home a rocket, followed by Henry Bennett. An
own goal form the visitors rounded off the scoring in a fast-paced game
where Adam and Lewis Carter provided the controlling influence in a
good team performance.

Taplow U10 minors played their second game of
the season battling out a 2-0 loss to Delaford Colts whites. A step up in
performance from last week saw the whole team perform well against a
physically bigger Delaford side. Taplow came close throughout the game but
were beaten once in each half for the loss.
If they continue to play in this manner a win will not be too far away
