Taplow United U15's 2 Charvil 3
League Cup
Heartache for Taplow who led 2-1 with just 5 minutes left. Having taken the
lead through skipper Bradley O'Brien (after great work from David Higgs),
Charvil battled their way into the match equalising from a set piece.
Undeterred by this setback Taplow stepped up another gear and regained the
lead when the classy Ben Harvey put Taplow back in front. Both sides deserve
much credit for their commitment which whilst extremely physical at times
never got remotely unsportsmanlike or niggly. Charvil snatched an equaliser
from a corner with. Goalkeeper Sam Fynn was outstanding and was desperately
unlucky when, having made a truly fantasic save a minute earlier was decieved
by a 'wicked' bounce as Charvil clinched the tie with seconds remaining.
There were plenty of
Taplow heroes, Fergus Newsome was outstanding as was Tom Proudlock but manager
Mike O'Brien split the vote and gave the man of the match award went to no.23
Stephen Murphy who having been at Anfield just 24 hours earlier gave a
performance Jamie Carragher would have been proud of.
