Gary
Newson 3, Brad O'Brien 3, Tyler Beard 3 and Ben Harvey 3 Burnham battled gamely until the very last kick of the game but were completely outgunned by a rampant Taplow. The division one side simply had too much for their opponents from the division below, amazingly there were no less than FOUR hatricks as Taplow cruised into the next round. Goalscorers were Gary Newson, Brad O'Brien, Tyler Beard and Ben Harvey all helping themselves to 3 goals, Gary Newsome was superb all day just being edged out of the MOM award by Ben Harvey who worked the left flank tirelessly giving the Burnham full back a torrid afternoon. Taplow have yet to concede a goal in this competition so well played the defence too, superbly marshalled yet again by Tom Proudlock.

For 30 minutes Taplow 'blitzed' their opponents, playing their best football in recent memory and opened up a 2-0 lead through Brad O'Brien and Chay Harris. For half an hour Taplow literally played their opponents off the park playing high tempo attacking football. Britwell whilst shocked, showed their class and to their credit hung on in the face of the storm. Relentlessly they clawed their way back into the game and in a crazy 15 minute spell scored 4 goals against a tiring Taplow side. Taplow have much to be proud of despite defeat with, and with couple of sorely needed additions to the squad will be a force to be reckoned with in League Division One. Tom Proudlock was dominant in at centre back, just edging Nathan Shamuyarira and Ben Harvey for the man of the match award.
A clinical finish from 'Big Bad' Brad O'Brien separated the two sides. Whilst tackles were coming in hard and fast and no quarter was asked or given, the match was played in sportsmanlike spirit and was a credit to both 'camps' .The midfield battle was fierce and intense and ultimately where the match was won with both Stephen Murphy and Tyler Beard absolutely outstanding! However three fantastic saves in the first half broke New Windsor's hearts, capping a brilliant performance from Sam Fynn in goal and just enough to edge him man of the match in front of Stephen and Tyler. The side are desperately thin on the ground and need three players to compliment the nucleus of a VERY good squad. Taplow United 3 Slough Youth 1 Their was an injury scare late on when a doctor was almost called as people became increasingly concerned at the size of the smile on Taplow Manager Mike O'Brien's face, thankfully he confirmed it was nothing serious but it could take a while to wipe it off.
