Match report
Langley Wanderers 2 - 2 Taplow United
Bisset(p), Pointon
Taplow gained there first point of the season in a even game, however taplow
will be disappointed at the manner of both goals conceded, and there lack of
ball retention.
Taplow started slowly and struggled to get out of there own half early on,
taplow errant passing was not helping. They fell behind after about 10 mins,
a freekick from the Langley left was swung to the fast post, slack marking
allowed a header to be one a put through Josh Boggi's hands. Taplow
equalised a few mintes later from the spot, a Kev Pointon pass from the back
found Jonno Forde on the edge of the Langley box, his cross/shot was handled
and Dan Bisset sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot. Taplow's passing
gradually improved as the half wore on, a few chances were created the
best falling to Mike Bevan who worked his way past a defender before seeing
his effort well saved. However Langley regained the lead when a another
set-piece, a long throw from the right, wasn't dealt with a the ball was
hooked into the net from the near post.
The second half was more end-to-end, taplow commiting men looking for an
equaliser, langley always ready to hit on the break. Taplow were lucky to
stay only 1 behind when a header from another set piece was kept out smartly
by Boggi. Taplow kept searching for a goal, but though there chance had gone
when Dan Bisset was through on goal only to put a tame effort wide. However
with 5 mins taplow got there equaliser. A free kick from Boggi into the box
was heading across goal by Bisset causing confusion in the home defense, the
ball was not cleared and fell to Pointon at the far post to tap home.
A point seemed a far result, however Taplow must work on defending
set-pieces and improving there passing.
